..and now…some input from my boy….

I just wanted to make an appearance to remind you of how much I love all of you.  You made my mom feel stronger, while I was getting weaker.  However, my  smile is the one thing I want you to remember about me, the most.  My mom is finally smiling again.

Thank you all for building her up, when she felt down, and for reassuring her that I am running happily with SO many friendly dogs.  I knew that Mommy wasn’t going to be ready for another pet, and so I took my time trying to find just the right one for her.  How did I do?  I even picked a girl dog for her, so that she would have to laugh at herself every time she said “he” instead of “she”.  I’ll still be her first guy, and now Boo can be her first girl.  I’m watching with curiosity and glee, to see what Boo will do.  I am happy that Boo was brave enough to jump up AND even down on the big bed I claimed as my own, no longer a “guest bed”.  Mom and I took the BEST naps there, and I know that she’s been missing my company up there all by herself.  I saw her hugging my blanket, and I knew she would share it with Boo.  It’s in her crate.  Mommy has never had a pit bull, but I KNEW that this wasn’t going to matter to her, and that she would learn whatever she could to make sure that Boo was taken care of.  I’ve met some Great dogs here, and I learned more about different breeds than you can imagine.  I knew that they would make a great pair.

While I have your attention, I just wanted to let you know that Nitro and I are currently in charge of introducing all of the Tripawds to the rest of the gang and we’re ambassadors of all meet and greets to other beloved pets.  It’s a monthly gig, and we got picked for February.  We send kisses and our doggy cuddles to all of you!  Love, Gerry.

About danielle

I am a rescue mom and school teacher. Gerry came to me from Texas, after he "failed" as a hunting dog. He had NOT had an easy life. I was three years divorced, and we saved each other. Last week I learned he has osteosarcoma. Our world feels upside down...while everyone else is right side up.

This is SUCH a sweet post. I love it. You definitely chose very wisely and thoughtfully for your Mum and I’m so pleased she’s smiling again. Look out for my Pie at the bridge, Gerry. She’ll be over by the treats and I’m sure she’d love to have a chat. She’s a very chatty girl….
Sending love to you, your Mum, Sweet Boo and all at the bridge,
    Meg, Clare and Angel Pie

I know Pie! I thought she had such a delicious and unique name, how could I not have noticed her? My mom is a very chatty lady, and so, I was naturally drawn to Pie. It’s such nice company to have someone do all the talking for you. Towards the end of the day we all have a given time to look down into “the real world’ if we like. There are many stations, because SO many of us want to make certain our humans are. We miss you as much as you miss us, but in different ways. I didn’t meet Pie at the treats station, but one day whilst we were getting our opportunity to look down upon, and check on YOU. Pie was talking to herself and so I asked her if she was okay. Long story short, I realized she was GLAD to get to speak to someone regarding her concerns about her human loves, as well as share some anecdotes about all of you. She was happy that I had finally found another dog to send to my mom, and she was amazed that Boo was blind, but I reassured her that my mom would welcome her with open arms. She knew the relief of knowing your human has other animals to love.

Oh sweet Gerry, who could not love that smile! And keep smiling because you did the best job picking out Boo!! You picked out the perfect pup for your most awesome mom, Good Job Boy!! Whoever said you were not a good hunting dog has bubblegum for brains because you hunted long and hard and wound up with perfection 💖💖
I haven’t been here nearly as long as many others, but I have followed your story diligently, and I can even feel your mom’s smile from here now.
And you were so smart to pick a girl.. I giggled when you talked about her having to correct herself with the he/she comments.. so precious.
Everypawdy knows that you deserved a better life than living in a kennel as a hunting dog with no family to love. Your mom gave you what nopawdy else did. And you know that this precious baby deserves more than being labeled because of her beautiful, misunderstood breed. You picked a great one!
Thank you for sending a little girlie that needs your mom as much as your mom needs her.
Omd, I can picture you and Nitro up at the bridge. Making my eyes a little wet right now. I know you pups will do all of us proud 💖💖💖
    Lots of love,

      Jack and Huck,
My mom always had dogs, since she was ten years old, but she let me know that I was her FIRST. She and I lived together for two years by ourselves, which was THE BEST! I knew that Boo, being blind, was at danger of being used as a breeding dog, and that she wanted to love, as well as be loved. My mom is going to have Some adventures with her; I just know. My only regret is that she can’t see the deer at the end of the lawn, like I DID, and get the OUT OF OUR YARD!!!!!!!

OMG! You have me bawling like a baby with this post! I’m glad you and Nitro are friends, and thank you for sharing this. You are a special, special dog Gerry-boy; I was worried about your mom for a long time, and I am so glad you found sweet little Boo to help heal her broken heart. She’s the cutest little thing, and has landed in the best fur-ever home a pup could ask for. Whisper in Nitro’s ear, and tell him I miss him more than words can say….THANK YOU!

You done good Gerry! All of us are overjoyed to know your momma has found a way to open her heart to a doggie who needed her so much. THANK YOU!

And I can TOTALLY see you and Nitro being the role models for the Tripawds of the Rainbow Bridge. Good work my friend.

GERRY!!! GERRY!!! You have no idea how thrilled I am to hear from you!! I was glued to every word! You are such a wise boy.

Gerry, you picked the perfect companion for your Mom! Boo and your Mom needed each other sooooo badly. When you sent Boo to her and she posted about it, I’m sure you could hear us cheering loudly all the way up at the Bridge. We knew your Mom had so much pain in her heart, so much sadness and loneliness in her day. And we also knew you were in charge of getting her another dog who needed love and it would happen on your timeframe. And it was worth the wait!!

I love that you shared you and Nitro are pals and that you and Elsie Pie found each other. That made Paula and Clare so happy! Be sure and look for Hapoy Hannah too, okay? She-ll be in the kitchen waiting for the Angel’s to drop food on the floor. Or she may be sunbathing. She loved sunbathing.

Yes Gerry, now she has her first girl, and you will ALWAYS be her first guy. And make no mistake about it. we will ALWAYS remember uou with a smile in our hearts and we will always see you with a sweet smile on your handsome mug.😁 ALWAYS REMEMBERED GERRY. YOU WILL ALWAYS BE REMEMBERED HERE. Feel free to pop in anytime. We love hear from you. 😊😊

Lots of love to you sweet boy💖

Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!
