Gerry says to Boo, in her sleep…

Was I right?  Has your tail stopped wagging?   Do you remember the day that i saw you in the middle of the crowd, looking up to the heavens, and your tail, limp beside you.  I mainly noticed, because whenever I saw the blue skies above me, I felt as high as a kite, and as free as a bird!  I know that you’re blind and I’m using words that might not make sense to you, but I also know you’re intelligent enough to use context clues and determine what you’re missing.  You, Boo, are a lucky dog.

My girl, Danielle, was surprised, like all humans to discover that I  had a serious condition, and that I eventually, needed serious care.  She made sure I was doing whatever was the healthiest.  However, she and I Both knew that I couldn’t stay forever.  I knew it would take her at least a year to let her heart out on the line again.

You got her attention in a week’s time!  I know Exactly which photo made her go, “Ohhh..”

About danielle

I am a rescue mom and school teacher. Gerry came to me from Texas, after he "failed" as a hunting dog. He had NOT had an easy life. I was three years divorced, and we saved each other. Last week I learned he has osteosarcoma. Our world feels upside down...while everyone else is right side up.

Sweet Gerry! I loved seeing a pic of you again – you are so handsome! Yep, Boo is a lucky dawg, just like you were to have such a great mom. Hope you’re having the time of your life at the Bridge…..if you see a good lookin’ Dobie named Nitro, tell him I love him!

    Dear Dobemom,

Somewhere in this chain of posts I know that I mentioned how Nitro and I met, and we were in charge that month to meet and greet new arrivals at the Bridge’s entrance. We’ve actually gotten so good at it, that we now are allowed to train other dogs and cats to be greeters, so that we can just hang out and relax more.

I love that picture too. Mom keeps that scarf draped around one of her favorite framed pictures of me. It was the last one I wore down in NY. While cleaning and organizing this past week she chanced upon a few pieces of never used cloth that she’d bought from the craft store, ages ago. She never cut them or anything, and is glad, because she can size them to fit my sister, Boo.

Thanks for checking in on Mom right before this Biblical event took place. She and Dad and Boo are doing well still, and Boo is the lucky girl who’s getting TONS of quality play time with them both. Nitro sends sniffs and kisses, and so do I. Happy Mothers Day!

Oh my dog, cuteness alert! Great to hear from you Gerry, how are things up at the Bridge? Have you and Jerry been making all the girldogs swoon with adoration? I know you have!

And yeah Boo, you adorable sweet puppy, you are one lucky dawg indeed. With Gerry looking out for you, life will always be beautiful.
