..even though I “knew” the cancer would hasten the journey…

About danielle

I am a rescue mom and school teacher. Gerry came to me from Texas, after he "failed" as a hunting dog. He had NOT had an easy life. I was three years divorced, and we saved each other. Last week I learned he has osteosarcoma. Our world feels upside down...while everyone else is right side up.

The toughest part of the journey. I don’t think we are every ready for them to leave. Even if we know the time is getting close 🙁

That’s a lovely way you expressed the window into your heart. I know your heart still hurts, but I also know that’s where Gerry stored a piece of his heart in yours.

Such a beautiful tribute to your Gerry and the life and love you had for one another. My heart is aching for you right now because I know all too well how hard it is to let them go. When my little Yorkie, Chester, crossed over that rainbow bridge he took with him a piece of my heart. He too, visited me in my dreams and every once in a while I would feel his little body sleeping next to, as he did for his 11 years. I feel so blessed to have loved him and be love by him as I know you do with your Gerry.

    Sending many hugs to you…
