I am a rescue mom and school teacher. Gerry came to me from Texas, after he "failed" as a hunting dog. He had NOT had an easy life. I was three years divorced, and we saved each other. Last week I learned he has osteosarcoma. Our world feels upside down...while everyone else is right side up.

Gerry and I had a reciprocal relationship…we took turns being sad, and so we Always cuddled. Now I use one of his blankets when I have to sleep alone. This weekend the NEast got slammed by snow..I was actually glad that Gerry didn’t have to deal with it as a tripawd…the snow was very heavy. If it freezes than that would be even worse. I could feel him watching me shoveling the water filled snowed, talking out loud to use my knees and bend. If he could have laughed at me, he would have. On Friday morning when it JUST started snowing I almost took a walk by myself. It was one of the BEST times to watch my yellow boy go, go, go, In the snow, snow,snow!
