..that Gerry has ruined me for any other breed. David confessed he felt similarly…I just Can’t let myself expect that similarities will be rediscovered….and remind myself that each dog is an individual. However, I just can’t see myself with another breed of dog, if it’s not a Lab…Let life play a trick on me, I’m ready for that too, are you kidding me?!
I’m a realist. I loved some of Gerry’s gentle ways despite his size…the way he would act like a cat and bat a tennis ball around with his front paw(s), while lying on his back….or how he would LOVE to catch tennis balls down the hall and in the kitchen when it was too rainy or snowy to go outside. All this being said..I just love dogs.

And each dog who enters our lives will all be loved for different reasons, and for many of the same reasons too.
I do hope you are at least “looking” around for Labs. Gerry already has someone picked out for you. And you’re right, it may not even be a Lab!! Vut you jave ro do your part and at least start browsing around 🙂
I know it’s still early in the grief process. I also know the need to feel whole again by bringing a dog’s love and joy into your heart. Being able to love again so we can be who we are, is just as important as being able to receive their love.
Shhhh…..shhh…..don’t tell Merry Myrtle, but having the privilege of being with Gerry on this journey and falling in love with his gentle personality makes me want to go out and get a LAB!!! And after seeing all those delightful photos of that handsome boy, it would have to be a yellow Lab!
