Good boys eat ALL their dinner!

Look at that tail go!  Who knew that mashed sweet potatoes could be so tempting?!  A Nor-Easter has hit parts of the east coast today.  They announced the cancelling of school today, yesterday as we were walking through the halls for dismissal.  Happy students and teachers all around!  This is a SERIOUS storm though.  I have a foot already, and more on the way!  Gerry was a Lucky Boy and found a pine tree to shelter himself while he went out this morning, but he’ll need some man-made help by this afternoon.  The snow blower will make him a nice path!

About danielle

I am a rescue mom and school teacher. Gerry came to me from Texas, after he "failed" as a hunting dog. He had NOT had an easy life. I was three years divorced, and we saved each other. Last week I learned he has osteosarcoma. Our world feels upside down...while everyone else is right side up.

I know you are having some AWFUL weather and it sure does make it hard in humans AND tripawds! But I know Gerry loves having you home for more snuggle time…and homemade mashed sweet potatoes!

STAY SAFE!! Enjoy the snuggle time 🙂

Thank you Sally and all! It still hasn’t really stopped snowing yet, if you can believe it. I think we got an overnight dusting, and it’s started to fall lightly again. I haven’t even begun to dig my car out yet; we did my husband’s yesterday so he could go down the road to get more gas for the snow blower! Gerry loved it in the morning when it was about 8 inches…but I think we’ve got at least two feet out there by now. We made trails around the cars for him, and the driveway is long, so he’s got places to run and go, but I’ll have to try and get a picture of him looking longingly at the rest of “his” yard. I can hear him thinking, I swear! “Just wait! Just you wait bunnies, and deer. Once l I can get down there, look out!”
I know I am truly enjoying the snuggle time on the couch. You would think I would get extra things done around the house with this time off…but, no. No. I’m ten again.
I may never go back to work. Sorry Department of Education. I’m out!

A wagging tail is always a welcomed sight! I’m glad he is eating well. My Jack Russell is scheduled for his front leg amputation tomorrow (3/16). I’m scared but reading stories like yours gives me hope. I live in the North East too and have received 32″ of snow so far. I’m so worried my little guy will have trouble walking in the snow paths post surgery. Best to you and Gerry.

My heart and prayers go out to you today. Do something for yourself today if you can. Even if it’s a matter of buying a new cozy blanket for your Jack, do something. Snow paths should be fine, but lucky him, you can probably carry him if you need to. I hope all goes well for you and your baby today.
